Nothing is sacred in today’s economy, not even the verbal agreement between a hard working guy and the ambassadors of the retail sex trade.
However, when a prostitute cheats you out of a few minutes of time, your best best is probably to keep your mouth shut. You know, as in most places in North America prostitution is illegal.
But, in Latin America, where prostitution is not illegal, you will have to deal being ridiculed by a laughing police officials, shaking their head at the call.
This was the case of John (not his real name), a visitor to Costa Rica’s many massage parlours where prostitutes – sorry, social sex workers – offer a happy ending to a rub and a tug.
You see John was promised a full hour but he actually got 50 minutes. He had been “shorted by 10 minutes.”
Complaining to the manager was not enough, he flagged down a passing cop car and complained of the short change. His expectation was, on (verbally) filing his complaint, to have the cops enter the establishment and check things out.
They did, but the answer (60 minutes) later is that there was not sufficient evidence to file charges of fraud against the massage parlour or the girl in question. The cops said they were willing to give it a second run, but only after a 20 minute break.
Moral of the story, “Be speedy” that’s all we’re saying!
